ALBANY, NY (10/06/2009)(readMedia)-- Niagara County's FCU was recently selected to receive the 2009 Ralph W. Hillman Marketing Award from Universal Sharing Network, Inc. (UsNet).
The Ralph W. Hillman Award recognizes a participating UsNet credit union for best exemplifying the spirit and enthusiasm consistently exhibited by Hillman in his support of the shared branching network.
Hillman served as UsNet's chairman of the board for nearly two years, from 2001-2003, and had been a board member since 1998. During that time, he never settled for anything but the best—excellence in not just one area, but in all areas. He tirelessly dedicated himself to promoting the network, lending his voice and support to the cause.
The award seeks to honor those participants in the network who capture the same energy and enthusiasm that made Hillman the spirited leader he was. It is that dedication and commitment that makes the network successful for credit unions and members alike.
"This year we received several outstanding applications. However, one credit union's stood out – Niagara County's FCU," said Marc Inger, chief operating officer for UsNet. "Niagara County's FCU consistently promoted the network to its members via their website, printed materials and newsletter throughout the year, emphasizing the convenience and accessibility of shared branching. In short, Niagara County's FCU incorporated the very enthusiasm exhibited by Hillman into their annual marketing plan."
UsNet (Universal Sharing Network), a CUSO owned by New York credit unions, has provided credit unions with a gateway to the national shared branching network since 1993. They are partnered with the largest network provider, CO-OP Shared Branching, which offers participating credit unions and their members' access to more than 3,400 CU Service Centers across the United States.
