Nonaka Garners SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week Honors

GEORGETOWN, TX (10/04/2012)(readMedia)-- Sarah Nonaka, senior goal keeper from Honolulu, Hawaii has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 24 through Sunday, September 30.

Nonaka posted three shutouts during the week as the Pirates went 3-0 (2-0 SCAC). Nonaka tallied seven saves in a 1-0 win over Howard Payne on Tuesday. She then added four saves in a 1-0 win at Austin College before finishing her week with a 3-0 win over Centenary. Against Centenary, Nonaka made one save and totaled 12 saves for the week.

The women's soccer team has a bye week before returning to action for the second round of SCAC play, facing Centenary at home on October 12.
