North St. Paul Resident, Kyle Richardson, Receives Award in National Marketing Competition

ST. PAUL, MN (06/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Kyle Richardson, of North St. Paul, Minn., and seven of his classmates received honorable mention at the Effie Awards, a national collegiate competition that recognizes the most effective advertising efforts in the United States each year. Their submission, "Sophisticated People, Intelligent Choices," a public service announcement for Heineken, included a strategic plan, an innovative commercial, and creative brief for use in television, Facebook, YouTube and mobile marketing.

Richardson, a 2011 Marketing graduate from Concordia University, St. Paul, enjoyed the real life application of this project. "It was not just another project for a grade, it was a competition against other colleges and universities," said Richardson. "I learned a lot from the feedback [from Effie] that I plan to utilize in my professional life. Overall I think this was the best project/competition that I have ever been a part of in my college career."
