Northwest student Will Whaley honored at Senatobia Rotary

SENATOBIA, MS (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Northwest Mississippi Community College journalism major Will Whaley of Nesbit was honored on Friday, Dec. 2 by the Senatobia Rotary Club as Student of the Month.

Carroll Gunn, journalism instructor at the college, introduced Whaley and commended him for his academic achievement.

"Will is the lifestyle section editor of the student newspaper," said Gunn. "He is always willing to help and is very involved in student life at Northwest. He is an outstanding student and always has a positive attitude. He deserves the recognition as Rotary Student of the Month."

Whaley is completing his last semester at Northwest and plans to double major in music and journalism at The University of North Alabama in the spring. He is currently active in the Northwest Singers, Northwest Entertainers, Ranger Marching Band, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Ranger Rocket newspaper.
