Oak Park Soldier assumes command of headquarters detachment

SPRINGFIELD, IL (03/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Capt. Kevin J. Hayes of Oak Park assumed command of the Illinois Army National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters Headquarters Detachment from Maj. Jeffary Jiannoni of Petersburg at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, March 3.

Hayes returned from a deployment to Afghanistan with the Bilateral Embedded Staff Team A9 in October 2012. He was previously assigned as the assistant fire support officer for the 404th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in Chicago.

Hayes received his commission in 2002 through the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Jiannoni will now serve as a United States Property and Fiscal Office material management officer with Joint Force Headquarters in Springfield.
