NEW YORK STATE (05/03/2022) (readMedia)-- More patients are demanding a choice in how their healthcare needs are met, and because of this, many are looking for providers that offer preventive strategies, prioritize natural medicine, and are evidence-based in their approach. All of which are fundamental aspects of a naturopathic medical practice.

In states where Naturopathic doctors are regulated and licensed, included in insurance plans, and are part of the fabric of health care, the demand for naturopathic medicine is strong and growing.

But New York isn't one of those states.

That's why Naturopathic Doctors (ND) in New York State have introduced bills in the Senate and Assembly (Assembly #A-6035 and Senate #S-7371) asking to be recognized and regulated. By licensing ND's, New York State has an opportunity to join 25 other states and territories and offer:

  • enhanced quality and capacity of care in NYS
  • the public an attractive complement to their current forms of care
  • keep patients in state for their services
