HARRISBURG, PA (01/27/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has lifted the 45 mph speed-limit restriction from that 33-mile section in Southern Pa. between the Valley Forge Exit (#326) and the Delaware River Bridge Toll Plaza (#359).
Normal operating speeds of 65 mph are now in effect in the area, where maintenance crews have been working to remove snow and ice from the roadway and interchanges last night through today.
This was the last speed-restricted section of the Turnpike, and so all speeds on the system are now returned to normal posted limits of 65 mph (or 55 mph at tunnels).
In addition, the Turnpike lifted the right-lane-only restriction for commercial vehicles from Valley Forge to the Delaware River Bridge.
