MILWAUKEE, WI (07/19/2012)(readMedia)-- William Knight, son of Daniel and Susan Knight, was honored with the Peter G. Theis Award for Excellence in Classical Greek from Marquette University's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Knight is working toward his bachelor of arts in classical languages with a second major in philosophy.
The Peter G. Theis Award is given in memory of a former Marquette University classics professor whose dedication and long years of inspired teaching fostered the study of classical Greek on campus. The award is a certificate and a cash prize provided by Eta Sigma Phi, the Classics Honorary Society.
Knight produced the best English translation of several of Aesop's fables. Knight received a cash award and certificate.
