"Parks and Recreation" Actress to Bring Comedy Routine to LVC

ANNVILLE, PA (08/31/2010)(readMedia)-- Retta, who left a career in chemistry for a life in comedy, will bring her stand-up comedy routine to Lebanon Valley College. She will perform in Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center on Friday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. as part of LVC's Comedy Series, which is free and open to the public.

Retta Sirleaf was born to immigrant parents in New Jersey. A graduate of Duke University, Retta left the pharmaceutical research field in the mid-1990s and started performing stand-up comedy. Her routine includes slightly embellished stories about her life, family, and friends. During the past five years, Retta has performed in every state in the union.

Retta has made several television appearances, including E! Entertainment's "The Soup" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." She starred in her own Comedy Central special and also made film appearances in "Slacker," "Dickie Roberts-Former Child Star," and "First Sunday." Retta is currently performing on the NBC comedy series "Parks and Recreation."
