Peoria Native enlists in Illinois Air National Guard

SPRINGFIELD, IL (04/17/2018) (readMedia)-- Springfield, Ill. – Airman Taylor Young, of Peoria, Illinois, was sworn into the Illinois Air National Guard April 9, at the 182rd Airlift Wing, in Peoria, Illinois.

Young enlisted as a 3F5X1, Administration Specialist, and is assigned to the Student Flight Program in Springfield, Illinois.

Upon completion of her initial training, Young will be assigned to the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria, Illinois.

Young is a senior at Limestone Community High School, in Bartonville, Illinois.

After successfully completing her training, Young will be eligible for the Illinois National Guard Grant, which pays 100 percent of state-funded college tuition while she works as a full-time student and a part-time Airman. She will also be eligible for the Select Reserve G.I. Bill and federal tuition assistance.
