Phoenix House President Urges Gov. Hochul to Sign Bill Expanding Naloxone Access

NEW YORK, NY (10/20/2021) (readMedia)-- Phoenix Houses of NY/LI is calling on Governor Hochul to sign S2966A/A336, a bill requiring medical professionals to co-prescribe naloxone alongside opioid prescriptions when risk factors are present.

"Opioid overdoses are occurring at higher rates than ever. Requiring medical professionals to co-prescribe naloxone alongside opioid prescriptions for patients at risk is a smart idea that will result in fewer accidental overdose deaths. It's common-sense to get naloxone in as many hands as possible - this simple act will save countless lives. I urge Governor Hochul to sign this bill into law," said Ann Marie Foster, president and CEO of Phoenix Houses of NY/LI.
