Phoenix House to Host Thanksgiving Food and Clothing Drive in Long Island City

Event is in partnership with Sen. Gianaris, Assm. Nolan, and CM Van Bramer

QUEENS, NY (11/18/2020) (readMedia)-- On Wednesday, Phoenix Houses of New York and Long Island -- one of New York's largest providers of substance abuse treatment and care -- will hold a Thanksgiving food giveaway in partnership with Senator Mike Gianaris, Assemblymember Cathy Nolan, and Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer. Residents of the facility will distribute Thanksgiving meals, clothes and other essential items to Long Island City residents.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had profound impacts on New Yorkers. Nearly one in four households have experienced food insecurity at some point this year.
