Pittsburgh native honored at national dance festival

BELOIT, WI (03/13/2013)(readMedia)-- Pittsburgh native and Beloit College senior Mia Alcorn was honored this week at the American College Dance Festival Association's North Central Region Conference.

The dance titled The Walls It Embraces, which she choreographed, was selected for the gala performance honoring excellence in choreography and performance.

Other schools honored alongside Beloit College included University of Illinois, University of Iowa, University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin (Madison and Milwaukee), Minnesota State University and Winona State University.

Beloit College is a residential, liberal arts college offering 40 majors to its 1,250 students. Located 90 miles northwest of Chicago, Beloit is one of the nation's most international colleges, drawing students from 41 nations as well as 49 states.
