Press Conference Dissecting NYC Chancellor's Letter on the Yeshiva Investigation

NEW YORK, NY (08/20/2018) (readMedia)-- New York City's Chancellor Richard Carranza sent a letter to the New York State Education Department Commissioner MaryEllen Elia outlining the investigation into the Yeshivas, that was spurred by our complaint in 2015, and the progress or lack thereof in assessing whether Yeshivas provide a "substantially equivalent" education.

We believe the letter is a good start at being more transparent about an investigation that is taking too long, but we think some of the purported improvements are exaggerated, and we plan to elaborate on that. We also have additional, previously undisclosed and unreported, information, including pictures, emails, and other valuable pieces of information we would like to share that demonstrate the need for swift action without fear of favor.
