Price Chopper Announces Fundraising Party on Eve of Grand Opening in the City of Oswego

SCHENECTADY, NY (06/04/2009)(readMedia)-- Neil Golub, Price Chopper's President and CEO will be hosting a fundraising party on the eve of Price Chopper's grand opening of its newest store, located in the City of Oswego. He will be joined by Randolph Bateman, City Mayor, Michael Wachs, Oswego Development, LLC, developer of the project, along with other city officials.

The public is asked to make a $5 per person donation at the door (children 12 and under are free).100% of all money raised will be given to the three local nonprofits. Food and beverages will be provided by Price Chopper. Musical entertainment by Dave Hawthorn, singer and songwriter. Attendees can enter to win a Weber Genesis S-310 Gas Grill and a $250 House of Barbeque grilling package. They must be present to win!

Price Chopper will match all donations up to $1,500. A check presentation to the nonprofits will be held at 7:00pm.

Oswego SpeedWay driver Jason Spaulding and the Jakes Automotive/2Xtreme Towing/Novelis super modified #23 will be in the parking lot. Jason will be giving away Buy one/get one coupons to the speedway.

Also making a personal appearance will be Gretchen Dizer from the NYS Lottery Draw Team. She will be handing out Take 5 buy one/get one coupons to the first 100 attendees.

The store's Grand Opening will be at 8:15am, Tuesday, June 9th. A flag raising will be conducted by the Lavere-Harrington VFW Post 2320 during the playing of the National Anthem. Immediately following will be a ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the new 66,000 sq. ft. Price Chopper Food & Pharmacy
