Three Charities Receive Donation of Tons of Food After Price Chopper Convention

Albany Damien Center, Northeast Parent & Child Society and a Connecticut Food Bank Are Recipients

SCHENECTADY, NY (09/29/2009)(readMedia)-- When more than 1,400 top managers from Price Chopper Supermarkets met in Hartford, Conn. for its annual Fall holiday business show this week, the Connecticut Convention Center's Exhibition Hall was transformed into a larger than life supermarket with rows and rows of foods and products. When the multi-day event ended, Price Chopper donated 30,000 lb. (nearly 15 tons) of nutritious produce and other food to Foodshare, the regional food bank for Connecticut's Hartford and Tolland counties. The Schenectady, NY-based company also donated food to the Albany (NY) Damien Center for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS and to Schenectady's Northeast Parent & Child Society.
