Price Chopper Opens Newly Expanded Store in Granville, NY
Since 1996, Price Chopper has served the Granville community
President and CEO of Price Chopper, Neil Golub, along with Granville Town Supervisor, Rodger Hurley and Mayor, Jay Niles, "chopped" a ribbon this morning at 8:30am to officially open the doors to a newly expanded store. With the purchase of 10,000 sq. ft. of an old Rite-Aid space, the Price Chopper is now 39,000 sq. ft. The expansion work began in September of 2008.
"Despite this challenging economy, Price Chopper is a healthy, American-owned, family-managed company that continues to grow," said Neil Golub. "We look forward to better serving the Granville community by expanding our very best offers," he added.
The store has hired twenty-five more associates to assist throughout the store. The store manager is Greg Osinski.
Jerry Golub, Price Chopper's EVP/COO, expressed his enthusiasm when referring to the new store, "We are confident that consumers here will appreciate the superior quality and value of what Price Chopper has to offer. We are truly committed to bringing 'the best in fresh...and low prices' to Granville."
NEW - Customer Cut Meat Department. A bigger department with a much wider variety of the best in fresh meats.
NEW - Prepared Food Department. Customers can enjoy fresh Signature Sandwiches, Bella Roma Pizza, award-winning Roasters chicken, hot soups, fresh salad bar and a Central Market Coffee Shop.
NEW - Central Market Café. A seating area to enjoy lunch, dinner or a cup of coffee.
Price Chopper's Golub Foundation, the charitable branch of the Golub Corporation, in an effort to enhance and improve the quality of like within Price Chopper communities, made a one-time contribution in August, 2008, to Haynes House of Hope's capital campaign. The residence is for terminally ill individuals.
At 8:15am, the American Flag was raised by The American Legion Post 323 led by Chuck McCasland. From 9:00am to noon live music was provided by Mark Rabin, One Man Music.
