CHESTERTOWN, MD (04/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Priyanka Parikh '12, daughter of Rupal and Deepak Parikh, Red Hook, NY, participated with Habitat for Humanity during her spring break. She traveled to Columbus, GA, as part of Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge Program in a partnership with NeighborWorks Columbus. This was the College program's 13th alternative Spring Break trip, and 31 students, three staff members, and one faculty member made the journey, as the largest Collegiate Challenge team fielded by Washington College yet.
Parikh is majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Biology. She is involved with Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, the Psychology Club, Tri Beta Biological Honor Society, the Service Council, Cleopatra's Sisters, and The Elm student newspaper. She is also the president of Best Buddies and was recently selected as Student Leader of the Month based on her work with this cause. Parikh graduated from Red Hook Senior High School.
