SPARTANBURG, SC (05/27/2010)(readMedia)-- Raina Nicole Luthra (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Sarah Hannah Newman (Camden, S.C.) were named Honor Graduates during Commencement ceremonies at Wofford College on May 23. Honor Graduates have the highest GPA among the graduating class; both Luthra and Newman had 3.99 GPAs.
Luthra graduated with degrees in Spanish and biology, summa cum laude. Parent: Pamela Luthra Pierson (Simpsonville, S.C., 29681).
Luthra studied abroad in Santiago, Chile, during her junior year. She has been a frequent volunteer with the La U y Tu outreach, a community ESOL teacher, and a member of multiple Campus Union Committees. She recently was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
