Rajan Raghavan Elected Clarkson University Trustee

POTSDAM, NY (03/23/2018) Clarkson University alumnus Rajan Raghavan '82 of Saratoga, Calif., has been elected to the University's board of trustees. He will serve on the Investment and Internal Affairs committees.

Raghavan is CEO of The Fabric, which teams up with passionate entrepreneurs to co-create, fund and accelerate companies in the cloud/IoT infrastructure space. Its goal is to shape disruptive ideas into sustainable ventures.

An experienced serial entrepreneur, The Fabric is the sixth company started by Raghavan. He was also the founder of Mediaway, Virtual Chips (acquired by Phoenix Technologies), RealChip Communication, Xambala (acquired by Final), and Ankeena (acquired by Juniper).

In addition, he has been involved with three other startups: Avasem (later ICS), Cirrus Logic, and C&T, and has served as an adviser to multiple startups in the software, semiconductor, and systems space.

Raghavan is director of VeloCloud Networks Inc. and a member of the board of directors of IoTium.

He received his bachelor of engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (India) in 1978, his MBA from Syracuse University in 1980 and his master of science in electrical engineering from Clarkson in 1982.

Raghavan and his wife, Ragini, reside in Saratoga, Calif. and are the proud parents of two children Ravi and Srinidhi.
