Read Across America Celebration Honors Dr. Seuss's Birthday

DES MOINES, IA (03/01/2010)(readMedia)-- The Iowa State Education Association (ISEA), the Des Moines Education Association (DMEA), Everybody Wins!, Merle Hay Mall, and Smilemakers are pleased to sponsor the National Education Association's Read Across America celebration with free prizes, free books, fun games and activities, a Dr. Seuss costume contest with prizes and more!
WHO: | Studies show that students who read do better in school and in life. Helping children to develop good reading skills is an important factor in student achievement and lifelong success. NEA's Read Across America is designed to get kids excited about reading with special guests reading Dr. Suess's books, an appearance by Iowa Energy mascot "Surge", a music presentation by the Iowa Youth Choir, and a Dr. Seuss costume contest. |
