Reduced Speeds on I-476 Southbound to Impact Traffic this Week in Carbon County

Heavy trucks entering the left lane reduce speeds to 40 mph through Turnpike bridge project.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (10/02/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling southbound from the Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) Interchange on the new Pohopoco Creek and Lehigh River Bridges to be prepared for reduced speeds and slow moving traffic Monday – Sunday (Oct 3-9) between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Heavy trucks will be entering and exiting the left lane southbound from designated construction entrances located between milepost A75-A72. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 miles-per-hour and enforced through the entire 3-mile work zone for the protection of Turnpike customers and construction workers.

Motorists are strongly urged to obey the posted 40 mph speed limit which will be enforced by Pennsylvania State Police. Fines incurred through the work zone will be doubled.
