Refuah Health Center and Fidelis Care to Host Open House with Health Screenings

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY (06/10/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care is proud to join the new Refuah Health Center in hosting an open house to introduce the residents of South Fallsburg to Refuah's recently expanded local health care services.

The open house will be held on Sunday, June 26, at the Refuah Health Center located at 36 Laurel Avenue, South Fallsburg, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. During the open house refreshments will be served, and Refuah medical staff will offer free blood pressure screenings, weight and glucose checks, and consultations with a practitioner.

Currently, the Refuah Health Center is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00am until 4:00pm, the hours are flexible and based upon demand. As demand for services increases, the Health Center expects to expand the hours of operation. Services available at the Health Center include: sick visits, physical exams, healthy check ups, vaccinations, laboratory testing, case management/assistance with insurance and benefits, as well as a full service optical store. The Refuah Health Center is pleased to announce that Michael Kaplan RN, FNP-BC has joined the Refuah Team as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in adolescents. Mr. Kaplan has a Master's of Science with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner, as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, from Columbia University. Mr. Kaplan also holds a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the State University of New York in Purchase. He performed his clinical rotation at the South Bronx Center for Children and Families in the Bronx, as well as the Department of Pulmonology at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in New York. Previously, Mr. Kaplan was a staff nurse at New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center.
