STOCKBRIDGE/LENOX, MA (04/15/2016)(readMedia)-- Head of School Paul Lindenmaier announced that Berkshire Country Day School (BCD) has had another successful year for its students applying for admission to independent secondary schools. Applications from ninth graders went to twenty-five independent boarding and day schools, and every BCD student who applied was accepted. Schools that admitted BCD students include: Berkshire School, Buckingham Browne and Nichols School, Choate Rosemary Hall, Concord Academy, Emma Willard School, Ethical Culture Fieldston School, Groton School, Holderness School, Horace Mann School, The Hotchkiss School, Middlesex School, Millbrook School, Milton Academy, Miss Hall's School, Nobles and Greenough School, Northfield Mount Hermon School, Phillips Academy Andover, Phillips Exeter Academy, Proctor Academy, The Putney School, Riverdale Country Day School, St. Ann's School, Trinity School, and Westover School.
"As our current students were navigating their high school decisions last month, I received a joyful email from the ecstatic mother of two BCD alums and soon-to-be graduates of Pittsfield High School, sharing that both students had been accepted to Williams College," said Mr. Lindenmaier. He added, "We are similarly proud of those students who will depart BCD in June prepared to flourish and meaningfully contribute at Pittsfield High School, Lenox Memorial High School, and Monument Mountain Regional High School next year. Credit for each child's success at BCD must be directed to our deeply dedicated teachers. Their passion for teaching, creativity, and enthusiastic involvement throughout our community established the culture where each student's promise is recognized and inspired."
BCD will celebrate the success of the graduating ninth grade class at its commencement ceremony in June. "Everyone in our community, whether through their hard work, support for BCD, concern for our campus and the spirit of the community, and care for each child was evidenced in our students' character, interviews, efforts, and performance throughout the secondary school application process," said Mr. Lindenmaier. "For all of these reasons and so much more, and as we collectively celebrate the achievements of all of our students, we all can be proud of BCD."
