Rev. Bernard Crayton to speak during Campbellsville University's Holy Week Chapel Service

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (03/12/2018) (readMedia)-- CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Rev. Bernard Crayton, pastor of Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky. and a Campbellsville University alumnus, will be speaking Wednesday, March 28 at 10 a.m. in Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave, Campbellsville, Ky.

Crayton will be the guest speaker for the Holy Week Chapel Service which is sponsored by The Reuben and Jewel Robertson Worship Endowment. It is open to the public free of charge.

"This is always a very moving service," Dr. John Chowning, executive assistant to the president of Campbellsville University for government, community and constituent relations, said.

The Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church has experienced enormous growth under Crayton's pastorate and has implemented a variety of ministries that are equipping the saints for evangelistic outreach to the unsaved through fervent prayer, discipleship training, and the power of the preached word.

Crayton received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pastoral Ministries from Campbellsville University in 2014. He is pursuing his Master's of Theology Degree at Campbellsville University. He also attended the University of Toledo.

He is the former pastor of Friendly Missionary Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio and previously served as the moderator for the Central District Baptist Association of Louisville. He is also a former trustee of Simmons College of Kentucky and has served as a board member of the Louisville Urban League.

Crayton is serving his first term as the vice moderator for the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky. He is a founding member of the Norton Cancer Institute Leadership Cabinet and was selected as a recipient of the Phoenix Award for his energetic willingness to bring compassion to his community.

He is married to Marcella Jones Crayton and has two children, Ashley and Justin.

Dr. John Hurtgen, dean of the School of Theology at Campbellsville University, will give the welcome and a brief explanation of the Robertson Worship Endowment.

The program will include readings from the New and Old Testaments by CU students as well as performances from the University Chorale. The opening prayer and benediction will be led by a CU student, staff or faculty member.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
