Riverside Student Receives Elizabeth Marion Murray, S.C. Award for Writing

RIVERDALE, NY (05/20/2013)(readMedia)-- The College of Mount Saint Vincent is proud to announce Ariel Nicole Pimentel has received this year's Elizabeth Marion Murray, S.C. Award, recognizing writing excellence by an outstanding writing minor. This award honors a beloved faculty member and former chair of the English department who served the College for more than 50 years.

During her time at the College, Ms. Pimentel was the editor of the school's literary magazine, The Underground. Her writing is praised by the English faculty as "richly imaginative, experimental, and humane". After graduation, Ms. Pimentel will pursue graduate studies in publishing at Oxford Brookes University, in England.

Ms. Pimentel received the award during the 101st Baccalaureate Awards and Hooding Ceremony on Friday, May 17th 2013 before an audience of students, faculty, administrators, trustees, parents and honored guests.
