Rochester resident wins prestigious Matrix Award

BINGHAMTON, NY (05/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Binghamton University student Alexandra T. Carmichael was recently awarded a Matrix Award by the New York Women in Communications Foundation.

Each year, the New York Women in Communications Foundation - a 501c3 - awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students who intend to pursue or further a career in communications. Only 18 scholarships were awarded this year using criteria based on academic excellence and a demonstrated commitment to the field of communications.

Carmichael, who graduated from School of the Arts (SOTA) in Rochester, NY, is a junior at Binghamton University, majoring in English and minoring in sociology

She is the daughter of Lisa Pierce of Rochester, NY.
