DES MOINES, IA (07/20/2018) (readMedia)-- Des Moines, IA- The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are pleased to present Ron Hunerdosse of Fairfield as an Iowan of the Day for the 2018 Iowa State Fair.
"Ron Hunerdosse's action are larger than life," shares nominator Laurie Noll. Ron volunteers and organizes Christmas baskets for the citizens of Fairfield, spending countless hours in the warehouse putting together food boxes and organizing volunteers to deliver the baskets. Ron has been recognized within the Fairfield community as Fairfield's Citizen of the Year, as one of Fairfield's Friends of Education and Fairfield's Teacher of the Year.
Ron does everything possible to make his community a better place for all. You can even catch him digging holes during the hot summer days to build the Trojan Plaza. Ron also drives the bus for the district- helping on whichever route is needed.
Above all, Ron has been a courageous coach- always encouraging and inspiring his athletes. One former athlete wrote to Coach 'Dosse,' "I can't describe how thankful I am that I had the pleasure of having you as a coach. You impacted my self confidence majorly."
Hunerdosse's day of recognition will be on Friday, August 10 at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. He will be recognized with a presentation on the Anne & Bill Riley stage at 2:00 p.m. Along with accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, he will receive a gift bag, Grandstand tickets and use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart.
