SPARTANBURG, SC (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Russell Glenn received the Coleman B. Waller Award, the departmental award for chemistry, and the John Q. Hill Award, the departmental award for mathematics, during Honors Day ceremonies held May 11.
Glenn is a triple chemistry, physics and mathematics major. He has participated in the Community of Scholars and in a prestigious research internship in the pediatric oncology education program at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Glenn has a 4.0 GPA. He has plans to attend the Medical University of South Carolina in their medical scientist training program. The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
