Ryan Bankert Inducted into Washington College's Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi

CHESTERTOWN, MD (03/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Ryan J. Bankert '13, son of Jeffrey and Melissa Bankert, Manheim, PA, was inducted into Sigma Delta Pi, a national Hispanic honor society. Sigma Delta Pi honors those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of Spanish-speaking people. Members must complete three years of College-level Spanish, including a course in Hispanic literature and culture, as well as maintain a 3.0 GPA and rank in the upper 35% of his or her class.

Bankert is majoring in Business Management and Hispanic Studies. He is a member of the Spanish Club, the Volleyball Club, Students in Free Enterprise, and the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows honor society. He graduated from Manheim Central High School.

Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
