S. Sophie Braunstein of Myersville is Inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa

CHESTERTOWN, MD (03/19/2013)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that S. Sophie Braunstein '13 of Myersville, MD was recently inducted into the Alpha Psi Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa sheltered at Washington College.

Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, was founded December 3, 1914 at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. The founders formulated the idea that leadership of exceptional quality and versatility in college should be recognized, that representatives in all phases of college life should cooperate in worthwhile endeavors and that outstanding students, faculty and administrators should meet on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness.

Braunstein is double majoring in both political science and economics. She is a member of Nu Delta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Pi Sigma Alpha. A graduate of Middletown High School, Braunstein is a National Security Scholar, a Hansard Scholar, an intern for Senator Nancy King and an intern for Diane Abbott, MP and Shadow Minister of Public Health.

Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
