CANTON, NY (04/03/2017) The SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be hosting a "Buy Local Matchmaker" event from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, April 28, as part of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce's Home, Garden and Business Expo at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena.
"Matchmaker events work a lot like speed dating," said SBDC Business Advisor Michelle A. Collins. "Participants sign up for 10 minute meetings with the contacts of their choice and have that short time to network and share marketing materials. It's a great way for businesses of all sizes to collaborate and expand their markets."
The SBDC aims to foster business-to-business connections for exhibitors before the Home, Garden and Business Expo begins, Collins added. "There are benefits for prime agencies, contractors, purchasing officers and for small business participants," she said.
Agencies wishing to establish subcontract situations with small- and medium-sized companies are offered free attendance. Business participants looking to work with larger companies and purchasing agents will be charged $10.
