BATAVIA, NY (07/25/2018) Continuing it's Recognition Matters series, Genesee Community College is excited to announce the appointment of Tara E. Conrad as a SUNY Provost Fellow for Student Enrollment and Completion Infrastructure. The contributions Conrad will make over the next year to higher education in New York State are truly a matter of unique recognition.
Conrad, a Webster resident, is the assistant registrar at GCC, serving as a liaison between the College's records office and computer services teams. She reviews business practices to maximize effectiveness and efficiencies as well as ensuring compliance with SUNY and New York State regulations. She is also the cross registration project lead for SUNY system administration designing a university-wide web application to facilitate inter- and intra-campus approvals of student cross registration requests and the necessary user trainings to implement the application. All these responsibilities led to her exciting, one-year appointment.
As a SUNY Provost Fellow for Student Enrollment and Completion Infrastructure, Conrad is now researching student withdrawal data and developing infrastructure recommendations to facilitate re-enrollment. She is leading the SUNY Provost's Advisory Working Group on the Transferability and Portability of SUNY Micro-Credentials. Her work will also investigate the expansion of system-wide course equivalency data and a possible solution to assist campuses in building and maintaining course articulations. The one-year, full time appointment is keeping Conrad extremely busy and since she is working outside her GCC office, she has taken a temporary leave of absence from her duties in GCC's Registrar's Office.
Conrad is a recipient of the 2017 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service for her consistently superior professional achievement within and beyond her assistant registrar position at GCC. She earned her Master of Science in Education from SUNY College at Brockport in 2006 and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Merrimack College in 2003.
Conrad will play a valuable role in shaping the future of education in the SUNY network through her time and dedication to this new appointment which has earned her a spot in the Recognition Matters series at GCC. This series serves to highlight the important contributions made by GCC's faculty, staff and students - these matters truly matter.
