SYCAMORE (07/26/2013)(readMedia)-- Artillerymen of Battery Alpha, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery Regiment, promoted two of their own at the Sycamore Armory, May 5.

The Soldiers watched as 2nd Lt. Charles Levy of Crystal Lake was promoted to the rank of first lieutenant, and Pvt. Shane McNamara of Bartlett, was promoted to the rank of private first class, by Capt. Dustin Cammack, battery commander.

Levy serves as a Platoon Leader for Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery Regiment located in Sycamore. Levy commissioned into the Illinois National Guard in 2008.
