Sarah Buckley Of Wilbraham, Massachusetts Named NECC Rookie Of The Week

CHICOPEE, MA (04/12/2010)(readMedia)-- Elms College freshman designated player/infielder Sarah Buckley of Wilbraham, Massachusetts earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors for the week of April 5-11 as announced by the conference on Monday.

Buckley was a force at the dish during the week, picking up 11 hits in 20 at bats (.550 average) with two triples, a double and 12 RBI. Buckley, whose 11 hits was a team high through the six games, also scored a team-best nine runs. She also drew four walks and was 3 for 3 in stolen base attempts to help Elms to a trio of NECC doubleheader sweeps. This is Buckley first collegiate career conference honor.
