Sculpture in the Streets Clog Sculptures Move Inside for the Winter

ALBANY, NY (01/15/2013)(readMedia)-- Albany, NY... The painted clog sculptures from the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District's (BID) Sculpture in the Streets – Stand in the Sole of Albany Public Art Exhibition & Walking Tour have been repositioned at interior locations for the winter months. The oversized clogs will remain inside until March or as weather allows, preserving the artwork for the remainder of the exhibit.

Paths of the Past inside 30 South Pearl Street

The Stand in the Sole of Albany exhibit began in June last year and continues through May 2013. The exhibit and tour are free and open to the public. Walking tour maps will be available at area merchants, the Downtown Albany BID office at 40 North Pearl Street, Albany and online at downtownalbany.org. "This year's Sculpture in the Streets exhibit has been a huge success encouraging participation from Downtown workers and residents while attracting visitors from the surrounding area," said Georgette Steffens, Executive Director, BID, "Moving the program indoors protects the hard work put into the sculptures by our local artists while giving the viewer a warm, comfortable experience through the winter months."

The exhibit is underwritten in part by the Albany County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Capitalize Albany, The City of Albany, Key Bank, Kivort Steel, O'Connell & Aronowitz, Omni Development Company Inc., The Stewart's Shops and The Swyer Companies and Albany.com.
