Services Scheduled for Active Army Casualty from Illinois
SPRINGFIELD, IL (11/28/2011)(readMedia)-- The honorable transfer, visitation, funeral and grave side services for Pfc. Adam E. Dobereiner have been scheduled for this week.
Pfc. Adam E. Dobereiner, 21, from Moline, died Nov. 18 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Dobereiner was assigned to the 8th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade based at Fort Hood, Texas.
The Illinois National Guard is supporting the active component as well as providing military support to the Dobereiner family.
The honorable transfer will begin at the Quad City International Airport at approximately 8:45 a.m. and proceed along I-74 and the John Deere Expressway to Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematorium in Moline. The visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday Dec. 1 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematorium. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday Dec. 2 at Broadway Presbyterian Church in Rock Island with burial to follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.
The Dobereiner family does not intend to address the media and ask that cameras be kept at a respectful distance.
