Signal Soldier receives prestigious award

Capt. Jaime L. Galvin, of Chesterfield, Missouri, is awarded the Bronze Order of Mercury for her dedication and contributions to the Army Signal Corps at Marseilles Training Center.

MARSEILLES, IL (05/27/2014)(readMedia)-- Capt. Jaime L. Galvin, of Chesterfield, Missouri, received the Bronze Order of Mercury award for her dedication and contributions to the signal corps. Galvin enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 2003 and serves as the 406th Brigade Signal Company (BSC) commander in North Riverside, Illinois.

In 2009, Galvin was assigned to the 406th BSC where she helped stand up the new signal company. She assisted filling 55 vacant slots, reclassified Soldiers and ensured the company was postured to receive their Warfighter Information – Tactical (WIN-T) systems. She managed and oversaw the Soldiers training, fielding, inventory and validation of the brigade's WIN-T equipment while at Fort Drum, New York.

Galvin has a Bachelor of Science in telecommunications management from Illinois State and a Masters of Arts in information technology management from Webster University. Galvin works for Edward Jones as a network engineer.

The Bronze Order of Mercury recognizes those people who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity, moral character, professional competence and selflessness, and who have contributed significantly to the promotion of the Army Signal Corps and the Signal Regimental Association.
