Sigourney Weaver, Jim Simpson & Jose Torres 9/11 Workers' Compensation BALCONY PSA's to Air Through 8/14/2008

NEW YORK, NY (09/04/2007)(readMedia)-- BALCONY, the Business and Coalition of New York, www.balconynewyork.com, announced that working with NYCOSH, it will continue to provide TV and radio PSAs featuring actress Sigourney Weaver, director Jim Simpson and boxing legend Jose Torres urging all those who participated in rescue, recovery and clean up to register for Workers’ Compensation before the August 14, 2008 deadline.

“The BALCONY 9/11 Workers’ Compensation PSAs will be part of the effort to alert those thousands of people in lower Manhattan who were exposed to deadly toxins following 9/11,” stated BALCONY Co-Chair Bruce Ventimiglia, Chairman of Saratoga Capital Management LLC.

In October 2006, BALCONY produced an informative series of 9/11 Workers’ Compensation television, radio and internet Public Service Announcements (PSAs), http://www.balconynewyork.com/BalconySpecialAlert.htm, in both English and Spanish, featuring Sigourney Weaver, Jim Simpson, and José Torres, all of whom work or live in Lower Manhattan. BALCONY 9/11 Workers' Compensation PSAs were funded by The Center on Workers' Injury Policy, Inc., among others, and have already been disseminated throughout New York on TV and radio stations, distributed to business and trade associations, and streamed on union websites.

At the same time, BALCONY pledged to continue its website 9/11 Workers’ Compensation Countdown Time Clock that in real time informs those impacted of the time remaining until filing deadline of August 14, 2008..
