ALBANY, NY (05/31/2013)(readMedia)-- Motorists are advised that lane closures on the Sprain Brook Parkway between Routes 100B and 100C in the towns of Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant and the village of Elmsford will be in effect starting Monday, June 3 through Saturday, June 8 for bridge demolition work.
Northbound lanes will be restricted each weeknight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Southbound lanes will be restricted from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, lanes will be restricted northbound from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., and southbound from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
A day-time lane closure will also be in place northbound from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, and southbound from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition, the eastbound I-287 ramp to the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured from eastbound I-287 to Exit 4 to NY 100A south to NY Route 100B West to Sprain Brook southbound.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through this construction zone, for their own safety and the safety of workers.
