St. Paul Resident Receives President's Exemplifying Excellence Award from Concordia University, St. Paul
ST. PAUL, MN (05/27/2011)(readMedia)-- Dr. Shirley J. Miske, St. Paul resident, received the President's Exemplifying Award from Concordia University, St. Paul on May 14, 2011 for her dedication to the improvement of education.
Dr. Miske is the president of Miske Witt and Associates Inc. (MWAI), a St. Paul consulting firm that collaborates with national ministries of education and international organizations to improve quality and equity in education systems internationally. She works to improve education for children through research, policy and education programs in literacy and mathematics, teacher professional development and gender mainstreaming. Dr. Miske and her associates consult internationally with organizations such as UNICEF, UNESCO, CARE-US, Save the Children, USAID and the Inter-American Development Bank.
Dr. Miske serves on the President's Council of Lutheran World Relief and the Advisory Boards of the Annual Review of Comparative and International Education and the international non-profit organization Room to Read.
