State DOT Sets May 16th Hearing On Coxsackie And New Baltimore Rail Crossings

CSX Asks to Modify Crossings on Flats Road, Flint Mine Road and New Baltimore Road

ALBANY, NY (05/02/2013)(readMedia)-- The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 16, 2013 regarding a request by CSX Transportation, Inc. (CSX) to alter three public grade crossings located on Flats Road, Flint Mine Road and New Baltimore Road in the Towns of Coxsackie and New Baltimore, Greene County. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m.at the New Baltimore Town Hall/Justice Court, 3809 County Route 51, Hannacroix, NY 12087.

CSX is proposing to add a second track adjacent to an existing track, which will require alterations to three public at-grade crossings. The second track will provide additional capacity on the Hudson River's west shore to be able to handle more trains and support the growth of intermodal shipments and moving crude oil, automobiles and other commodities by rail.

The hearing will establish a record and enable a determination as to whether the alterations of these three crossings are in the public interest. NYSDOT Chief Administrative Law Judge Robert A. Rybak will preside at the hearing.

Please contact the Office of Proceedings (518-457-1182) if a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening system or any other accommodations will be required to facilitate participation in this hearing.
