State Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay Named to Touro Law Center Board of Governors
ISLANDIA, NY (06/05/2009)(readMedia)-- Independence Party of New York is pleased to announce that State Chairman Frank MacKay was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Touro Law Center in Central Islip, NY.
Touro was recently named one of the nation's most innovative law programs for its two on-campus courthouses and student participation in public advocacy and pro-bono legal assistance.
"I am excited about being part of the Board of Governors of Touro, and eager to do whatever I can to be helpful to the organization", stated Chairman Frank MacKay.
MacKay joined the forty-five member Board on April 23, 2009. He was appointed along with and Jeffrey Starr, Executive Vice President and Chief Counsel for Capital One, N.A. The Board of Governors is chaired by Howard M. Stein, a partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. The Touro Law Center has a student body of approximately 750 students, and 5000 alumni.
MacKay was elected State Chairman of the Independence Party in the year 2000, and has since been re-elected six times. He resides in Rocky Point with his wife, Kristin, and their four children.
