State Places New Veterans Counselor at Empire State College
ALBANY, NY (11/05/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs announced today the appointment of Paul Stote, as State Veterans Counselor in its Empire State College Office in Saratoga Springs.
Stote, a graduate of Norwich University, is an Army veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, having served in Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot. Stote brings a wide range of military and veteran experience to this position. By joining the Division, he fills a vital position on campus allowing us to directly interface with all veterans and their families. Increasingly, the Division is placing counselors on college campuses to assist veterans in navigating the myriad of available benefits and services.
"Paul brings extensive experience and ability to the position of State Veterans Counselor. His military experience, together with his very strong educational background, will greatly assist veterans and their families in the Saratoga area." said Division of Veterans' Affairs Director James D. McDonough. "I also want to thank Empire State College for their outstanding partnership and commitment to helping student-veterans, veterans in the community and their families by offering on-site access to professional veterans' benefits and counseling services available through our Division."
The Division's office is located at Empire State College, Room 214, 1 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The purpose of this office is to provide benefits counseling and advocacy for student-veterans enrolled in the college, as well as to provide greater access to Saratoga County veterans and their families.
