State Veterans Director Welcomes Veterans and their Families to the Great New York State Fair
State Veteran Counselors available to assist Veterans and their Families
ALBANY, NY (09/02/2009)(readMedia)-- James D. McDonough, Jr., Director of the NYS Division of Veterans' Affairs, welcomes veterans and their families to this year's New York State Fair. The Division will be available to assist veterans and their families on Military Appreciation Day. This year the Division will offer fairgoers information and assistance in securing various federal and state veterans' benefits.
On Thursday, September 3, 2009, State Veterans Counselors Lloyd Collins, and Jamie O'Hora will be available at the 174th Fighter Wing Tent from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm, and Senior State Veterans' Counselor, Sue Doan will be assisting in the Vietnam Veteran's Area from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
"The New York State Fair presents the Division with a great opportunity to speak to veterans and their families regarding their federal and state veterans' benefits, programs, and services. As individuals visit and enjoy the fair I encourage them to stop by and speak with our staff to learn more about the benefits and services their have earned through their service to our country. The Division is proud to, once again, serve New York State Fair organizers and participants," stated Director McDonough.
Senior State Veterans Counselor Sue Doan of Syracuse added, "We appreciate and honor the military service of the veterans of the great state of New York. As State Veterans Counselors, it is now our turn to serve those who wore the military uniform. It is an honor to assist all veterans in obtaining their well deserved federal and state benefits."
