Statement by Gary J. Fitzgerald, president of IHA, on the North Country Health Systems Redesign Commission

Northern New York's Health Care Delivery System a State Priority

CLIFTON PARK, NY (12/03/2013)(readMedia)-- "With the announcement of the creation of the North Country Health Systems Redesign Commission (NCHSRC), Governor Cuomo and State Health Commissioner Shah have made the continuation of the delivery of quality health care in northern New York a state priority. All of the hospitals in the North Country are currently engaged in activities which will properly position them as health care reform continues. Despite decades of reduced government reimbursement, North Country hospitals have survived and evolved as providers of acute care, long term care, and primary care. The NCHSRC will focus attention on the health systems that have been created, and hopefully will provide funding to support the delivery of quality health services for the communities throughout northern New York."
