Statement from Environmental Advocates of New York on the State Assembly's Budget Resolution

ALBANY, NY (03/24/2010)(readMedia)-- Overall the New York State Assembly's budget resolution is an improvement upon the drastic budget cuts called for by Governor Paterson, although it does not go as far as the Senate's proposal. Environmental Advocates of New York is pleased with the Assembly's decision to advance legislation to reduce toxic electronic waste, as well as their restoration of funding to keep state parks open. We hope to see the Assembly go even further and restore funding for the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Environmental Protection Fund as negotiations between the houses begin in earnest.
