Staten Island Resident Receives Spirit of the Founders Award from Dominican College

ORANGEBURG, NY (10/04/2012)(readMedia)-- On September 27, Dominican College presented Vincent Vallejo - a junior at the College - with the Spirit of the Founders Award.

The Spirit of the Founders Awards are presented to 2 Dominican College students who represent a respect for the values and traditions that have endured for centuries and who hold the promise that the Dominican tradition will be carried on. The Spirit of the Founders Award also represents for its recipients, a strong belief in their potential as leaders. The recipients are men and women of great character, spirit and action who have been recognized by their peers and the College community as embodying the Spirit of the Founders of the Dominican Order.

Vincent Vallejo has served as an RA for two years. He is an active member of the Poetry Club, the Rotaract Club, and is a Dominican College Student Ambassador. He has volunteered with the United Way for People to People, for a camp serving people with low/no vision, and for POTS (Part of the Solution). Vincent also provides art work for the RA applications and has created posters for the Man of the Year Dinner.
