Student teachers from all over the state scheduled to help make over Des Moines area elementary school

ISEA volunteers will give a deserving facelift to a local elementary school

DES MOINES, IA (10/11/2012)(readMedia)-- Over 50 ISEA student members and other volunteers from all over the state will pick up hammers, shovels, paint brushes, brooms, and mops to repair, landscape, and spruce up Pleasant Hill Elementary for the 2012 Outreach to Teach event. Volunteers will begin early in the morning and work until the school clean-up is complete. The event is part of the National Education Association's (NEA) Outreach to Teach program which began when educators from around the country gathered to help clean-up a school at the NEA's national annual meeting.

WHAT:

Outreach to Teach celebrates its 16th year with a volunteer clean-up effort at Pleasant Hill Elementary school where ISEA student members and other education professionals will work both inside and outside the school grounds.  Volunteers will work on bulletin boards, paint murals, cut box tops, repair playground equipment, replace sod and mulch and do other general cleaning.
