SAVANNAH, GA (06/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Naomi Fox of Suffern, NY, graduated valedictorian from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA on Saturday, June 1.

Naomi graduated with a B.F.A. in fibers and is returning closer to home to begin her first job designing textiles for the home as an assistant designer at the New York office of Keeco LLC, a textile and apparel design firm. "Growing up my father was in the fashion industry so he was constantly bringing home old Women's Wear Daily magazines," said Naomi. "I would be sitting down in my dining room cutting up these magazines and putting together these outfits. At that point I thought I wanted to be a fashion designer when really I just liked mixing patterns together."

At SCAD, Naomi explored diverse mediums and fabricated layers of texture through weaving, knitting and crocheting. Her inspired work won her a host of honors. She was a Ralph Lauren Intern Project finalist and a 2013 Cotton Incorporated Competition winner and she interned with Ralph Lauren, designing woven menswear samples and bedding patterns, and with Jonathan Adler.

"Ultimately, I want to be working with my sisters," says Naomi. "We all had the dream of ending up working together because we grew up creating together."
